Located on 65 acres in Venice, FL, Sarasota Memorial Hospital-Venice is the most significant expansion in the Sarasota Health Care System’s 94-year history. This four-story, 356,000 square-foot hospital is a state-of-the-art facility. It will open in fall 2021 with a 28-room emergency center, eight surgical suites, and 110 private rooms. SMH-V will offer a full array of medical and surgical care, including cardiology, gastroenterology, neurology, and oncology. It will also be hurricane hardened with a seamless connection to SMH’s electronic medical records and IT.

SMH-V is designed to be expandable. The comprehensive medical campus could eventually accommodate up to 270 patient rooms, 16 operating rooms, and a 50-bed ER. It is part of the Sarasota Memorial Health Care System, which was recognized among the nation’s 100 top hospitals by IBM Watson Health in 2019.

The architect and contractor chose Gold Bond® and ProForm® products for this extensive project because they are loyal National Gypsum customers and prefer to use a single-source brand whenever possible.
